Instant Films this Weekend!

Posted by John Wellington Ennis

Once again I will be directing a short film this weekend for the Instant Films Festival. For October, it is a Halloween theme, so I am hoping the extensive preparation for fights, blood, stunts, and chases is actually called for in our script, and we are able to use any of it.

Here is one of my favorite Instant Films that I’ve made, FOLKSY, a political satire about clowns in power.

Happy World Vegetarian Day!

Posted by John Wellington Ennis

World Vegetarian Day!In honor of World Vegetarian Day today, kicking off Vegetarian Awareness Month, I invite you to go without meat today.  Seriously.  Plenty of protein is in eggs, nuts, beans, tofu, milk.  Seriously, you will be fine.  Do you know how much mercury is in fish?  Do you know how many hormones are injected into cattle?  Do you realize that  chickens live in filthy cages so tight they can’t even move?  Is that flesh you want to eat?  In today’s world, the only thing we can control is what we put into our bodies.  Besides, cattle grazing contributes to global warming.

This imaginative video is what led me to become vegetarian.  Spoofing The Matrix, this cartoon “The Meatrix” shows you the horror of factory farming, while pulling the punch of witnessing the reality.  I was honored that this short film would later open for my doc at a film festival, Money Talks: Profits Before Patient Safety.
