FOX Interviews Obama, Struggles to Prevent Him From Talking

Posted by John Wellington Ennis

This preposterously bullying interview on FOX with Brett Baier plays like a sketch comedy parody of a shallow, mutton-headed shill thinking he is doing Frost/Nixon, when really he is making such an ass out of himself, even Obama looks a little embarrassed for this eager little dimwit.

FOX has done everything it could dream up to distort whatever Obama has said or done, and rather than risk him speaking coherently to their carefully misguided viewers, they make sure they get their monkey to screech over every answer our President gives.

Happy St. Patrick’s Day!

Posted by John Wellington Ennis

As this day is about tradition, here is the Toolz of the New School St. Patrick’s Day Special from my hometown Chicago, where they know how to have a St. Patty’s Parade (or two), seeing as how Los Angeles scrapped the parade this year due to budget woes.

What the Hell Does it Take to Fire Tim Geithner?

Posted by John Wellington Ennis

From The Smirking Chimp at Alternet.org:

This story isn’t going away. Someone has to go to jail. It’s clear that Geithner acted as the “chief facilitator” of industrial scale securities flim-flam which led directly to the Great Crash of ‘08. He needs to be held accountable for his actions.

Flobots – Survival Story

Posted by John Wellington Ennis

Tomorrow the indie political hip hop ensemble Flobots is releasing their follow-up to the stunning 2007 album, Fight With Tools.  To help keep record stores around a little longer, the band is giving away this free poster if you buy the album in a participating indie record store.  Here in L.A., the capital of the music industry, there are apparently no indie record stores around any more, so here is the poster of the album I will be downloading tomorrow, I guess.

Thousands of Deputies Swarm Health Insurance Companies–With No Coverage

Posted by John Wellington Ennis

10,000 people protest insurance companies’ grip on our health care and Congress—to no media coverage.  Hotheads with teabags taped to their heads get not only wall to wall news coverage, they get a network lead-up from FOX News worthy of a Bowl game, with ample replays of their event.  Why isn’t this newsworthy?

And this event has some smart, even camera-friendly dissent schtick going on here: Deputizing the entire crowd and sending them as a posse to arrest the heads of insurance companies??  You really don’t need to put much more on a press release than that to get some non-intrepid news producer there looking for an easy piece.  No, at the very moment when determined leaders in Congress are still trying to revive a semblance of real health care reform, the networks would rather not touch on it.  Wait--LOOK! Some nutty ex-Congressman talking tickling!

It’s Hard Out Here For a Pimp Smear Job

Posted by John Wellington Ennis

Apparently, it takes a mock right-wing blowhard to make up for the integrity that Clark Hoyt at The New York Times does not have to call out the media hoax that James O’Keefe III’s smear job against ACORN really was.  Take it away, Colbert…
