The Switch-Hitter and the Mascot

Posted by John Wellington Ennis

Today policy switch-hitter John McCain went to a Yankees game with 9/11 mascot Rudy Giuliani.  Rudy insists he’s not introducing McCain to the Yankees lineup to curry favor as a VP possibility.  (Maybe Attorney General, but so what?)

I documented Rudy’s Yankees fetish and love of power symbols as part of his megalomaniac bully complex for my upcoming film, RUDY & ME, part of the ‘Dude Trilogy’ as I will call it.

While still cutting the Ohio epic that would break into the separate docs FREE FOR ALL! and PAY 2 PLAY, I was also following Rudy’s campaign, interviewing his old rivals in New York, and revisiting my cable access comedy show that sparred with him in the late 90’s, Toolz of the New School.

Once Rudy’s campaign dissolved in a tidal wave of un-enthusiasm,  I set RUDY & ME aside to follow up after the 2008 race.  But as he now eyes the New York Governor’s Mansion, you better believe I’m eager to get back to work.

Rudy: We’ve had this date with each other from the beginning.*

“Election Weekend” Sounds More Fun

Posted by John Wellington Ennis

One of the reforms we have called for in FREE FOR ALL! (not that I’m alone in any of them) is that there should be a day off for voting.  Why Tuesday? is a citizen journalist group that has done reporting on different issues, including “How the hell did we vote on Tuesday in the first place?”

Here, not only do they speak to Rep. Steve Israel (NY), a member of Congress who introduced a bill to move elections to the first WEEKEND in November, they give him a camcorder to bug other people on Capitol Hill about why Tuesday became Election Day.

Mike Connell Subpoenaed

Posted by John Wellington Ennis

A big shout out to Cliff Arnebeck and Bob Fitrakis in Columbus, Ohio, for continuing to track down the 2004 Election Fraud in Ohio like some Bloodhound-Pit Bull super mutt.

The new lawsuit announced this week in Columbus identifies a lynch pin of how Rove et Al. have been hacking our elections: Mike Connell, a little-covered player in this field, who I illustrate in FREE FOR ALL! as the computer programmer who was making Ken Blackwell’s website to report the ‘official’ Secretary of State election totals while simultaneously promoting lies about John Kerry through the Swift Boat Vets for Truth website.  Besides the fact that he’s worked for the Bushes since the 80’s, built almost every other GOP website, and also has access to most of Congress’s emails, there is sufficient reason to focus in on this Southerner.

Below is the sequence from FREE FOR ALL! where I illustrate how this web of Republican operatives controlled the 2004 election in Ohio from when votes are cast on Diebold machines to when they’re counted and reported by other GOP corporations.

The Obama Media Rush

Posted by John Wellington Ennis

Obama4
I know that the disproportionate amount of media going to every syllable and hiccup that comes out of Senator Barack Obama — compared to the seldom-reported rantings of Crazy Old Guy John McCain — suggests a media establishment looking for some slip-up by the popular front runner, and a hypocritical approval of John McCain’s offensive jokes, marital issues, flip flops, ignorant gaffes (Czechoslavakia is so last century, dude).  I understand that there is legitimate concern about how the corporate establishment will try to tear down Obama as popular hero, and then shrug and nod at McCain because they got used to accepting old white guy Republican talking points long ago.

Johnmccain21
As Mark Crispin Miller has pointed out, this lopsided scrutiny prepares the public to accept the explanation that McCain wins the presidency despite the world’s expectations, because ‘Americans weren’t ready for such and such and so and so,’ as was widely run into the ground by the media leading up to the election.

But here is another side to the media rush to Obama instead of McCain, which I believe is also a factor: Ask yourself, why has the paparazzi been so single-mindedly focused on Brittney Spears instead of Christina Aguillera?  What of Christina’s woes in love, bad driving, and wardrobe crimes?

Christina_aguilera_004_2
Why?  Because people DON’T CARE about Christina Agiullera, or John McCain.  Obama is a star, Britney is a star, and the media swarms around the people readers give a shit about.  And I sense the longer the American public has to get used to Obama being put in front of them every day, the more closet racists will get used to him as The Man, and be more pragmatic than going for the guy who’s skin tone matches theirs, even though his policies don’t.

Rove’s Close-Up

Posted by John Wellington Ennis

At the Richard Hayes Philips presentation Monday, I saw a familiar looking guy also video taping.  Sometime’s L.A.’s like that, so many unique and distinct people, yet they kind of blur together.  Then I met him after, and someone mentioned he had met Rove.  It dawned on me.  “Yeah!  I recognize you now!”

Alan Breslauer, over at Hot Potato Mash: Well-played sir, this from a seasoned veteran.  As gratuitous photo ops go, this was especially good.  I had started hearing about the case of the Alabama governor and how Rove had something to do with it.  But this video stunt made me learn the name Don Siegelman.

That’s why we do it, to pass along the information we can in the medium we can, and hope others pick it up and run with it.

Richard Hayes Philips: Gay Terrorists for Bush?

Posted by John Wellington Ennis

Some video of Richard Hayes Phillips’ impressive presentation last night.  Here, a detailed account of just one of the counties he audited after the 2004 election, and how far some people will go to apparently explain voting procedures and irregularities that do not make sense.
