Thousands of Deputies Swarm Health Insurance Companies–With No Coverage

Posted by John Wellington Ennis

10,000 people protest insurance companies’ grip on our health care and Congress—to no media coverage.  Hotheads with teabags taped to their heads get not only wall to wall news coverage, they get a network lead-up from FOX News worthy of a Bowl game, with ample replays of their event.  Why isn’t this newsworthy?

And this event has some smart, even camera-friendly dissent schtick going on here: Deputizing the entire crowd and sending them as a posse to arrest the heads of insurance companies??  You really don’t need to put much more on a press release than that to get some non-intrepid news producer there looking for an easy piece.  No, at the very moment when determined leaders in Congress are still trying to revive a semblance of real health care reform, the networks would rather not touch on it.  Wait--LOOK! Some nutty ex-Congressman talking tickling!
